Greetings human beings! I’m a UX/UI designer based in Austin, TX. I create designs and problem solve in way that focuses deeply on the user while balancing business goals. I received my training from CareerFoundry’s UX Design program and I’ve been working this past year as a freelance UX/UI designer for small businesses.
I made the transition to UX design from teaching. With a background in education of 10 years. In the education field, I collaborated, strategized and research to develop various of lesson plans to help all types of learners absorb information in a way suited to them. It went hand and hand when doing UX research. I wanted to understand my users, so I delved in deep to learn and empathize, so I can figure out how to reduce frictions in applications. When it came to my students, I am learning and trying to understand where they are coming from, so I can help them find the support they need in and out of classroom.
Teaching has helped me connect with other educators nationwide developing curriculums and ensuring that all of the campuses are up to par. I facilitated meetings and interviewed future educators in order to create an optimal learning environment for students. During these interviews, I am looking for someone who can adapt fast, who can easily work alone along with the ability to work as a team. In a team, I am always learning new methods, researching and collaborating with others from different campuses in order to expand and improve the quality of education while providing support for students. In a company, I offer mentorship, collaboration, and developing ideas with concrete solutions.
These principles have aided me in my UX design career through empathizing, research, testing, and understanding. I'm looking for a company that will enable me to learn and grow as a designer. I want to be on a team where I can collaborate and share ideas to find a solution to make a positive impact on people's lives through digital products.
When I am not designing, I am playing D&D, boardgames, World of Warcraft, eating spicy food, climbing, kayaking, planting and traveling.
